Emergency First Aid

This page will give you an overview of our Emergency First Aid course.

Description Our Emergency First Aid Courses are designed to address the needs of your work environment.  Completing this course will also meet the requirements of Appointed Person status, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.  This course is designed  for supporting first aid staff or smaller workplaces that present lower health and safety risks.
   
   
   
                   
Objectives

There are 13 core Areas of first aid with several secondary areas covered:

  • Accidents and Illness
  • Commonplace work injuries
  • Managing an incident
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Simple record keeping
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Heart attacks
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Wounds & bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Fractures, bones & joints
  • First Aid equipment & hygiene

Suitability This course is ideal for 'nominated' persons or for people who provide support to qualified first aiders and anyone who would like to know what to do in an emergency
   
                   
Typical Clients All Business - Support for FAW Certificate holders in larger businesses or for first aid responders ins mall businesses.
 
                   
Certification Continuous assessment by trainer followed by a multiple choice exam and a practical CPR Assesment.  Delegates will receive a certificate, valid for 3 years, on successful completion of the assessment. Half day refreshers are required after one and two years.
