Nose bleeds!

Weakened or dried out blood vessels in the nose can rupture as a result of a bang to the nose, picking or blowing it.

More serious causes could be high blood pressure or a fractured skull.

 - Sit with head tipped forward.

 - Nip the soft part of the nose. Maintain constant pressure for 10 minutes.

 - Breathe through the mouth.

 - Advise patient not to breath through or blow their nose for the preceding few hours.
