First Aid at Work

Duration 3 Days (By arrangement can be run on non-consecutive days)
                   
Description

A practical and enjoyable course delivering the skills needed by a first aider in the modern workplace. It will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. 
   
   
   
                   
Objectives

There are 13 core areas of first aid with several secondary areas covered:

  • Accidents and Illness
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Simple record keeping
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Heart attacks
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Wounds & bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisoning, gas & fumes
  • Fractures, bones & joints
  • First aid equipment & hygiene

Certification

This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary.
