First Aid (FAW) for Construction

This page will give you an overview of the First Aid for Construction course based on the the FAW course, tailored to the construction industry.


Duration		3 Days (By arrangement can be run on non-consecutive days)

Description		A practical and enjoyable course delivering the skills needed by a first aider in the modern workplace. It will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. This course has been tailored to emphasise the needs and dangers of the construction industry (HSE Approved)




Objectives		There are 13 core Areas of first aid with several secondary areas covered: Accidents and Illness Using a first aid kit Simple record keeping Treatment of an unconscious casualty Heart attacks Resuscitation (CPR) Shock Choking Wounds & bleeding Burns and scalds Poisoning, gas & fumes Fractures, bones & joints First Aid equipment & hygiene Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974


















Prerequisites		None

Suitability		Nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone wanting a comprehensive introduction to first aid


Typical Clients		Construction Companies, Refurbishment Companies, Primary Construction.


Certification		This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this four day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary
