Working ManWe have a wide range of Health and Safety courses available from the HSE mandatory training to more advanced supervising safely courses.  All of our Health and Safety courses can be catered to your needs and are designed to translate easily to the real work environment.

 

The Courses

Health & Safety in the Workplace  (CIEH)

We provide CIEH Health and Safety in the workplace level 2 which is the advisory course for all businesses.  We also provide the supervising safely course (level 3) and the Managers course (level 4).

CIEH Level 3 Risk Assessment Principles and Practice

This is a necessary qualification for supervisors and managers that have a legal duty to assess health and safety risks.  This qualification gives those responsible the necessary depth of knowledge to do this.

CIEH Principles of Manual Handling (Level 2)

This qualification introduces candidates to the hazards and risks involved in manual handling and outlines what to expect from a manual handling assessment.  It will enable employees to develop safer manual handling techniques.

CIEH Principles of COSHH (Level 2)

This qualification is designed for those who use substances hazardous to health at work.  It introduces candidates to substances, the risks and controls available, and outlines what to expect from a control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) assessment.

Hand Arm Vibration (HAV)

This course increases awareness of HAV and enables people to identify and manage the effects of HAV.  Delegates learn what it is, how it's caused and how to prevent injury from it.

Noise Awareness - Noise Protection

This course covers the basic requirements of control and monitoring, risk assessment and prevention of injury in regulation with the 'Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005'.

Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS)

CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others.  The course prepares delegates to take the operatives test enabling them to be confident in the test and beyond.  It gives delegates a good grounding in site health and safety, saving time andmoney when they arrive on site.

Asbestos Awareness

This is an Asbestos Awareness course which conforms to that outlined in regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and in line with further guidance in the Approved Code of Practice.  It has been designed for those who may encounter or  disturb asbestos whilst carrying out their everyday work

Safe Working at Height (WAH)

A detailed look at legal duties, risk assessment and the heirarchy of controls.  This course takes a look at some of the most common items of work equipment, including MEWPs (scissor lift, self propelled boom and personnel lift), mobile access towers, podium, ladders and steps, and harnesses/lanyards to help you in selecting the most appropriate and cost effective work equipment.

Principles of Moving and Handling

This qulifaction introduces candidates to the hazards and risks involved in Moving and Handling.  It outlines what to expect from a moving and handling assessment.  It will enable employees to develop safer moving and handling techniques.

Safeguarding Adults (Abuse Awareness & Adult Protection)

This course meets Skills for Care Common Induction Standard 5 and is linked to Health and Social Care NVQ at levels 2, 3 & 4.

Challenging Behaviour

This course provides participants with the opportunity to examine the issues of Challenging Behaviour and develop strategies to cope, prevent flare ups and manage the situations.

The Mental Capacity Act 2005 (Awareness and Understanding)

This course takes the fundamental elements of the Act that applies to carers and their managers and explains in simple terms what is required and why. Delegates will then be confident that they are both within the law and giving the best possible service to those in care.

Abrasive Wheels Training

The course takes a carefully structured look at the Legal Duties imposed by the PUWER (Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations) 1998 the Risk Assessment process - now required by law for all work.  The Hierarchy of Controls, a look at avoidance, safe places of work, and work equipment.
