| Description | The introduction of the Mental Capacity Act into law has generated a requirement for people who work with those lacking capacity to understand the legal definitions described in the Act and how it affects their work. It gives delegates the understanding they require to be confident that they are both within the law and continue to offer the best possible service to those in their care. | |||||||||

| Suitability | This course will benefit those who work with or alongside individuals lacking the capacity to make decisions (either occasionally or continuously). Persons with Alzheimer’s, Dementia or other mental conditions are likely to fall into this category | |||||||||
| Typical Clients | All employers and employees in environments involved with caring for people who have conditions affecting their mental functions. | |||||||||
| Certification | All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance detailing the course content. This will enable them to demonstrate to current and future employers the subject matter covered and could be used to support an NVQ portfolio of evidence. | |||||||||
