Abrasive Wheels
This course is aimed at anyone who uses abrasive wheels or employs people who use abrasive wheels as part of their work. It covers different types of abrasive wheel, safety in their use and how to identify the type of wheel.
The majority of incidents involving abrasive wheels have been a consequence of unsafe systems of work or incorrect operation or equipment.

Aims of the Course
By the end of this course, you will be able to;
- Understand what abrasive wheels are and the importance of selecting the correct discs
- Understand what factors contribute to a disc failure
- Understand longer term health effects associated with abrasive wheels
- Learn about safe systems of work when using abrasive wheels
Who should take this course
This course is suitable for anyone whose job role requires them to work with abrasive wheels including petrol driven cut-off saws, angle grinders and bench grinders.
No previous knowledge or experience is needed to complete this course.

Assessment
Each module will have a set of questions you must answer correctly in order to successfully finish that module.
You will be asked 43 multiple choice questions and must achieve a pass mark of 70%. They are marked automatically as you progress so you will know whether you have passed the section before moving on to the next.
Certification

Our abrasive wheels course also is accredited by IIRSM.
On successful completion of the course, you will be sent an electronic quality assured certificate. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
