Epilepsy Awareness
This course will provide you with an understanding of what epilepsy is and the types of seizures that exist. It will touch on what you should do when you suspect someone is having an epileptic seizure and the treatments involved.
There are 40 different types of siezure. 1 in 5 people will have a seizure in their life time, but these are not always due to epilepsy.
There is no cure for epilepsy, however many treatments and therapies exist which can help someone diagnosed with epilepsy to become siezure free.

Aims of the Course
By the end of the course, you will be able to;
- Understand what epilepsy is, the diagnosis and triggers.
- Know what to do if someone has a seizure.
- Understand the treatments available.
- Understand the choice of language when discussing epilepsy.
- Know the catergorisation of seizures.

This course is suitable for anyone whose job role requires them to work with anyone who is diagnosed with epilepsy.
The course is also suitable for parents, guardians, family members, or anyone else interested in increasing their knowledge about seizures.
No previous knowledge or experience is needed to complete this course.

Assessment
Each module will have a set of questions you must answer correctly in order to successfully finish that module.
You will be asked multiple choice questions and must achieve a pass mark of 70%. The questions are marked automatically as you progress so you will know whether you have passed the section before moving on to the next.
Certification
