Course Description
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 sect. 2. compels employers to prevent harm to their employees, while reg. 6 to 9 of Control of Substances Hazard to Health requires employers to: undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment, prevent exposure, and decide and manage controls. Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) that doesn’t fit/protect puts employees at risk of harm and employers at risk of prosecution.
Face masks should fit well and work in conjunction with other RPE to prevent exposure. To ascertain fit, a ‘Fit Test’ must be conducted by a competent individual that understands the risks and procedures.

Prerequisites
Nil. However, candidates must have a face fit testing kit with them for the training. They can either supply their own or notify us a week in advance, and we can arrange one for you from the Arion Shop.
Suitability
This course is ideal for anyone new to training who wants to carry out Face Fit Testing on their colleagues in the workplace.
Qualification
On completion of the course, delegates will gain the basic knowledge and practical skills to carry out Face Fit testing.
